  1. What it is

    Business people host client rounds, corporate outings and member-guests. They want a strong player in the group, someone who can carry the round and make the host look good to their guest. They pay for that.

  2. What you'd make

    $200 to $2,500 a round depending on your credentials and the market. You set the number, and you can change it whenever you want.

  3. What's actually being asked

    Play well. Be good company for four hours. No teaching unless it's booked as a playing lesson. That's the whole job.

  4. How much of your time

    Only what you say yes to. Requests come to you with the date, course and occasion. Decline anything that doesn't fit, as often as you like, with no penalty.

The catch, and there is one

Getting paid to play forfeits your amateur status under the USGA rules. If you're still competing in USGA or state amateur events, this isn't for you yet, and we'd rather say that upfront than have you find out afterwards.
